group therapy

a psychotherapy group therapy for trauma recovery

Making the Unbearable, Bearable

We’re pleased to offer a trauma-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy group beginning September 2025, co-led by Registered Psychotherapist Kevin Adams and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Meg Walsh. Together, Kevin and Meg bring extensive experience in PTSD, developmental trauma, and structural dissociation, grounded in attachment theory, neuroscience, and relational psychotherapy. Kevin has studied Sensorimotor Psychotherapy in particular depth, and assists Dr. Pat Ogden, and Dr. Janina Fisher in trainings at The Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.

This group is intended for individuals who have experienced major or early trauma. Traumatic memory is often held in the body, making traditional talk therapy feel stuck or incomplete. In a thoughtfully facilitated group, healing can unfold through somatic awareness, increased self-understanding, and supported experiences of relating with others.

There’s something quietly transformative about being in a room—real or virtual—where honest conversation is welcomed. One of the gifts of group therapy is realizing you’re not alone. Through shared stories and reflections, many come to recognize themselves in others—a sense of universality that can be deeply reassuring. Over time, trust builds, and with it, a feeling of belonging. This cohesion becomes its own kind of medicine: supportive, steadying, and often surprising in what it makes possible.

Rooted in psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and relational principles, the group offers space to witness and be witnessed, to deepen insight, and to experience connection in a new way. We take great care to create a respectful and emotionally secure environment—one that fosters connection and avoids any approach that could overwhelm or re-traumatize.
